Ship & Receive by Rail
In the near future, The Stewartstown Railroad anticipates on being able to provide efficient, safe, and economic rail freight service. Customers will have access to a variety of shipping and receiving options with outside interchange connections thru York Rail to Norfolk Southern(NS), Canadian National (CN), and CSX(CSXT). Customers do not have to be on Stewartstown’s tracks to take advantage of rail service. A variety of commodities, raw materials, and finished goods can be transloaded from rail car to truck (and vise-versa.) Rail service provides an economic-friendly alternative by reducing trucks on our nation’s highways as well as decreasing pollution. Additionally, rail service opens economic doors to rail-dependent industry leading to local job creation and increasing property values.

Car Storage
Owners of private rail cars can “rent” parking space on Stewartstown’s tracks. Rates are dependent upon the size/weight of the car, length of storage(short or long-term), and maintenance needs of the customer.

At this time, owners of private rail cars and cabooses where the equipment can be brought in by truck are currently being accepted.
