The August work weekend will be August 16,17, and 18. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will be concentrating on finishing tie work to get the big train Out Of The Woods and up to Five Forks Road….. we are actually Out Of The Woods and are now into the open stretch below the Church building as we head to the crossing. We are also trying to get past the crossing and further into open country towards the auto body shop, the next crossing!!

With good crew and weather we should pretty much finish up tie work in this segment. Then there will need to be some track lining, ballasting and tamping before the train is released to go up there. We could finish this is September!! We also have spiking to do at several places along the class I track where ties are in but not spiked!!

We have a load of NEW ties coming in ( 200) in August and we will be using most of them in the class I track for maintenance and improvements to tie conditions. Ties are now $67 each plus freight! We are happy to have these and funding is being shared by the Friends and the Company! There is much to do as the fall busy season approaches and we are encouraging everyone to come out and help!!

We also have work to do to loco #12 and brake work in Coach 1158 if we get our parts in time!! We are hoping to have loco #12 serviceable this fall and planning to have coach 1158 usable by Halloween!!
