We will be holding the May Work Weekend at Stewartstown Railroad on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 2 thru 4, 9 AM thru 430 PM each day.

We will be doing some unusual tasks this weekend!

We will work UNDER Bridge 8, removing old deteriorated supports from underneath the bridge and replacing them with new heavy- duty steel beams and plates. We have our set of 30- ton hydraulic jacks ready to remove the old wooden supports!

We will also work on the enginehouse turnout, it needs several new switch timbers  installed. We have timbers in stock and will work to get them in and gauged and spiked and ready for a busy season of big train operations.

We have many other tasks to do to fill out the weekend, including motorcar repairs, installing a new vibrator on the ballast car and other equipment maintenance.

Hopefully we will have the RTW tie crane travel drive motor back from rebuilding and we can give this machine a good trial run helping handle the switch timbers.

We have much to do and we can use a big crew so plan to come out and help. We are well equipped enough now that we can really field two track crews and increase our railroad restoration velocity! For example one crew can be working on the enginehouse turnout and a second crew could be out tamping and raising joints! We just need you!
